Every August, as part of our One2One Mentoring Programme, we equip over 90 young people with everything they need to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed. Through our School Bag Project, each student receives a high-quality, school-ready bag filled with all the essential tools to support their learning journey.

If there’s one match that embodies enthusiasm, dedication, and team spirit, it’s Elisa and Teagan. Since the start of their mentoring journey, this incredible pair has approached every challenge with heart and a healthy dose of competitive energy!

At one2one Cayman, we often talk about champions; people who go above and beyond to uplift our youth, advocate for our mission, and spread the power of mentorship. This quarter, we’re proud to shine a spotlight on one such champion: Naro Zimmerman.

On April 13th, 2025, Naro laced up his running shoes and took on the Jersey City Marathon. But this was more than just a race for Naro. It was a personal mission: to raise awareness and funds for the cause that remains close to his heart, one2one Cayman.

What a morning! On Sunday, April 27th, more than 700 enthusiastic participants gathered at the starting line for the RBC Race for the Kids 5K Walk/Run—and this year, it was extra special.

For the first time ever, one2one Cayman was the sole beneficiary of this incredible event, and the outpouring of support from the community was nothing short of inspiring.

On April 5th, 2025, the one2one Cayman family gathered to celebrate something truly special; the people at the heart of our mission: our Mentors.

Hosted in a spirit of gratitude and fellowship, the event brought together 20 dedicated mentors, 5 committed board members, and several community partners, all united by a shared passion for empowering Cayman’s youth. It was a joyful, heartfelt occasion to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made together over the past year.

At one2one Cayman, we believe that every young person has the potential to thrive when they are surrounded by the right support, opportunities, and relationships. That’s why we are grounded in research and best practices that guide our work, including the Search Institute’s Developmental Assets Framework.

But what exactly are Developmental Assets, and why do they matter in mentoring?

In a world that can feel overwhelming and disconnected, mentoring offers something deeply human—presence. It’s not about having all the answers, but about consistently showing up. At one2one, we believe that when a caring adult takes the time to truly listen and support a young person, it creates a ripple effect—one that can shift the trajectory of a life, a family, and even a community.

Mentors aren’t superheroes. They’re people who choose to stand beside someone through uncertainty, growth, and change. And that simple act of showing up? It’s powerful. It says, you matter.
